As We See It >>

It should be obvious to our political parties in Jamaica that with all the great plans for logistic hubs, business process outsourcing, tourism, agriculture and everything else, without a healthy, educated society, we will just be spinning our wheels, therefore, now is the time to shore up the fundamentals of our country.

Take this bag drink matter, where syrupy, coloured water is being consumed in large amounts daily by our children, who for some time now have been exhibiting dangerous signs of lifestyle diseases, all of which are preventable, as have been recognized by the governments of Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados, which are banning sodas in schools.

But we have only ourselves to blame as if we had just continued the Jamaica Welfare Programme, which was started by the late National Hero, The Right Excellent Norman Washington Manley, we would have avoided our current health crisis and would now boast the world’s healthiest country, another missed opportunity!
