THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY

Year after year, the country's Auditor General has been reporting cases of waste of millions of dollars by government agencies and it has now come to the point where she is now begging the authorities to act in defense of our poor taxpayers. The straw that seems to have broken the camel's back is the reported waste of $76 million by the Accountant General Department for the rental of its new home, despite the fact that they have not moved in, for crying out loud what kind of madness is this in an obviously poor country, the whole deal reeks.
It is our opinion that with the advancement of technology, there is no need for the head offices of hundreds of Government Agencies to be housed in Kingston with its high real estate prices, when are we going to wake up and start placing the majority of them across Jamaica, starting with tourism, the head office of which should rightly be in Montego Bay and the list goes on and on.Back
