As We See It

As We See It >>

How could it be that after fifty-five years of independence with hundreds of Jamaicans over the years have been elected to Parliament to ostensibly oversee the business of the people, we are now being told the alarming news that over six hundred laws dating back to colonialism will have to be amended, at the same time our Courts are overwhelmed with a backlog of cases amounting to over four hundred thousand, what on earth has been really going on here?

Is is any wonder that the direct result of the above is rampant injustice and crime and violence in the country, as creative lawyers take advantage of loopholes in our justice system, despite decades of various crime plans and all kinds of specialised units in our Jamaica Constabulary Force, wow!

To add insult to injury, the presence of an office of the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in Jamaica amounts to a major embarrassment for the country, but we seem to have absolutely no shame at all as no Member of Parliament or sitting Councillor has publicly expressed regret of the current situation.  It seems that collectively we just cannot get it right at all, this is shameful.
